It was always thought that as you got older, your sleep needs declined.
Medical science has proven that’s a common misconception. Actually, sleep needs do not lessen with age, but what happens are very annoying things – inability to get to sleep or waking up in the middle of the night unable to get back to that deep beneficial sleep.
Those needs can vary from person to person. There are some who can get by beautifully with maybe 4-5 hours of sleep and have done so their entire life; others must get at least 8 hours before attempting to take on the next day.
